O’Brien chasing record on Champions Day

 Oct 19 2017

Caravaggio will head his sprinting contingent after a back to form win in the Group 2 Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh but will still have it all do against the sprinting sensation and his July Cup conqueror, Harry Angel, in the Qipco British Champions Sprint Stakes.

Hydrangea only just failed to win the Group 1 Prix de l’Opera at Chantilly and rates a major chance in the following Qipco British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes.

Dual Classic hero Churchill will be looking to bounce back from a luckless but disappointing run in the Irish Champion Stakes, however does come up against some star opposition in the form of four-time Group 1 winner Ribchester and the exciting and progressive Beat The Bank in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.

The final Group 1 is the Qipco Champion Stakes where Cliffs Of Moher represents O’Brien. He has to reverse form with Barney Roy from his fourth in the Juddmonte International while the brilliant Cracksman, who sidestepped the St Leger and the Arc, takes a step back in trip.

Champions Day is live on Sky Racing 1 on Saturday night.
